hmm no email?

well life is good here we have a baptisim coming up this saterday im nervous but excited im nervouse because he cant stand on his own and so that means there will be 4 guys in the font but its just kinda crazy.

other than thats its just been a pretty regular week i got a new companion his name is elder cottle. Im still trying to get used to him. he can be a punk sometimes. got ta love the greenies.

we now have a truck because Elder cottle couldnt do the hills around here i guess the guy aquired some kind of lung condition... hmmmm?

well life is being loved by me. and i fell happy and free.

oh for moms day i dont think we will be able to skype this time. I guess our mission pres thought it out and doesnt think its a good idea so we shall heed the council. but our number here is ***-***-**** and what the heck is the number i should call? well we may be and a members house so both elder cottle and i can talk to our fams.

I will leave you know angie(guys and dolls)

I hope everything is going good at home is it starting to get green? not that it ever isnt green especially compared to here.

So easter/yesterday guess who came and suprised me? Dalto newell. it was so fun he stayed for all of church and then one of the members here invited us over for milkshakes it was cool i really appreciated how Brother potter reached out to dalto. Alot of people were at church as well it was cool he felt really welcome. i think that was good for the lad. but he had to leave at like 3 so we only had an hour of hang time but when we left bro potter told him how much he apperciated daltons service. then we left and i gave him my book of mormon. its one that i have studied in half its worn to bits not really i have just been studying it for my whole misssion its just a standard paperback copy but i hope it means somthin to him.. its cool i hope he reads it maybe.

well i love you guys and i will await your update eagerly.

thats so crazy that rob is our new bishop i mean not that he cant do it but wow.

you guys are kinda naughty sitting back on the stage not a care in the world.

man sam is a good guy and i know he was a great misssionary i got a letter from hime last transfer but i never wrote back i love that kid.

today is trasfer day and p-day Elder kunz is getting transfered out and im getting elder cottle who has only been out for 2 transfers. president is trying to keep me young or something he just keeps sending me step sons. its fun but ive yet to have a senior companion since my trainer. or just a missionary thats my same age in the mish well we will just see. I still love the work no matter whos along for the ride.

that korihor story is one of my favs to i also love the response of the people of jershon. i can just see it he is giving his anti christ speal and they just walk up hes a little excited to see people coming to listen then mid sentance they put a sock in his mouth and shove him in the trunk of the 1970's caddy sittin right there.

well right now im reading the book of mormon again im in the last chapters of alma reading about moroni. I love reading about captian moroni what a man he must have been. I see him as a gentle man that just has the undeniable power of god to his back and he isnt affraid to whip it out.

this week has been good got to see alot of people. the people here in canyon country first seem to like us. Not everybody listens but at least they respect us. thats one thing i miss about Brazil we were everyones hero because we came so far to bring this message. and even if they were devoute catholic they iinvited us in and gave all they had to us. Just reminissing in the swelltering heat that has sprung upon us as of late.

I did get a new bike its a nice one i will take some pics and they will be on the next camera card wich is getting really full so i was thinking if you guys wanted to take some bites of life at home and dogs and family and friends then you could send it back and i could see all the wonderfulness of home life in the spring.

well I love you guys and miss you tell cati i only have 9 1/2 months left so she dosent have to worry.

hey MA and PA

well life is good i think im gonna buy a new bike. i have been barrowing another elders bike and well you know how that goes. its never fun to barrow. but we have some exciting news. we set a baptismal date with one of our investigators. it was awesome because he was at what seemed like an eternal investigator state so the story goes like this kind of a wierd one.

so Elder Kunz and i were teaching our investigator Herald Azuma and we have been teaching him a ton so we roll in a couple of weeks ago and teach about baptisim and really focus on him. he gives us the "we love you guys, in my own time ill be baptized" response so we are just like dang cause we went in there all bold like. So what happend this week herald calls us up and says hey ive been praying and really feel like its the right thing to do to be baptized. we are like What it was awesome. herald is suffering from brain cancer. they have operated twice but the cancer continues to grow so he is on radiation of some kind but he moves forward with unshaken faith its way cool. his family might take a little while. his wife is of muslim influece and moves alot slower toward the gospel but she will come around after herald.

well i just cheked the account and there the money was thank you for helping me out with the taxes.

i miss home alot i wish i could go hiking with you guys. we do sweet hikes accasionally so i get my fix here and now again. but it just dosent compare to the good northwest.

we need to see if we can make a trail from the begining of the robbins property and just up the border of it to the logging roads. we got to figure something out.

well i got a letter from corynn finaly and she is so excited to go to las vegas it will be fun for her.

I miss you guys and love you

Hey Jess,

It's sunday evening and we had church today w/ Robb as Bishop for the first time. He did great. We are excited and know he will do well. Did you hear that his councelors are Bro. Zeller & Bro. Beus?

How was Sunday for you?

Dad and I found Chad's missionary journal out in the storeroom and have been reading it. He names allot of cities in CA and it sounds like he had some good experiences. It's cool that both your Grampa's served in that great state!!

We've REALLY enjoyed the pictures you sent. Thank you, thank YOU!!
Did you ever get the money??
What did you decide about a bike?

We just got done skyping Sis. They are all well. We are heading out there May 2. Hopefully they're won't be any tornados. (it is tornado season)

I finally got to go to dad's Sunday School class. He's amazing! I just loved listening to him and watch how well he does teaching and helping people understand the gospel.

Yesterday we went to Dayton's soccer game. He's keeper for JV. He did well. They played against Olympia, a 4 A school.

I think I finally don't have to be working full time now. We have a new girl and she'll be great. Her name is Terry. Last Friday was a killer court day though, we had 27 pages of people!!!

It's crazy how fast time is going isn't it.

We took our second big hike yesterday. Turning right at the top of the hill instead of left. We explored a couple of roads that led to nowhere, but it was fun and felt good to hit the trail. Cati sure enjoyed it and was bounding, leaping and frolicking all over the place. The sad news is someone bought the property (all ten acres) that has the trail to the logging roads on it. We're pretty bummed cause he's gonna put up a gate and keep all us "riders" out. We'll have to work out a deal w/ someone!!!

I hope you have a great day and that you feel our love and prayers. We are so grateful you have this opportunity and that you're working hard!

I love you tons and tons
Love Eternally,
~Mom~

Arlo & I were out in the storeroom movin stuff around and came upon this book of poems and stuff.... Chad had written in the front of it "Poems Written by my Mother" and we found this poem inside:

JUST A MISSIONARY

There he stands his head uncovered,
Shouting to the rushing throng,
Struggling through the human current
with his message and his song.

His companion staunch beside him
scattering tracts to those who pass,
and the mostly human river flows
along as smooth as glass

Few to listen some to ponder
More there be who rush on by
But the Elder goes on preaching
of the plan of God on High.

He is burning with the message,
He has brought from Zion's door,
And he pleads with those who listen
to repent and sin no more

Just a mormon missionary
in a strange unwelcome land,
But a man of strength and wisdom
Sanctioned by God's gracious hand.

Just a witness to the nation
of the gospel now restored.
But a faithful, willing servant
Blessed and prospered by the Lord.

Hi Jess,
Did you get to see all of Conf.? What was your favorite talk. I heard stories from dad and Anthon about a talk in Priesthood where the family was raising bunnies.......
My favorite was Richard G. Scott talking about his wife Janeen.
Of course it was all wonderful and there were some especially great ones I can't wait to get and study.
Saturday dad and I & Cati went on our first hike for the year. We hiked down past the beaver pond to the place where the creek runs by... where Cati has that little diving off place. It poured rain the whole time, but it was good. It felt good to get back out there and we are determined to get in GOOD shape.
I have been working full time for the last month, Tammy has found a different job and has left me with no one to take her place, I kinda thought about it but do not want to be that tied up!! I think the Judge has found someone to start this Tues. HOPe HoPe!!
I'm working on helping get a YSA program going here. We need something for the kids your age. Especially now that they will be coming home from College and missions soon. Any good ideas?
I hope all is well with you
I'm still anxiously waiting for the picture card!! I can't wait to see some pictures.
I love you tons and pray for you always!!!
