Jesse Got Transferred!!! 8-22-2011

Alright family its transfer p-day and its time to go. Ive spent close to 8 months in this blessed area and now I'm headed back to the valley. It turns out that ill be going back to the zone i left although it will be a new area the Burbank 3 ward.I will also have a new assignment. President called on Friday and asked if id be a zone leader In the good ole East Valley zone. wow I'm nervous but confident that the lord called me so gotta do what you gotta do.It will be exciting mostly to have a companion that wants to help. I don't want to complain but there have been a string of companions that lets just say that i learned alot from. I feel that i did all i could to help them though. It will just be fun to have someone who wants to share the load.

Back to the city then back to the crazies. Ive enjoyed the laid back atmosphere here especially on p-day when we do our shopping. when your in the valley it always feels like your trying to get on the last helicopter out of vietnam. but it will be a good adventure.

the carsons will be close so that will be fun to see them every once in a while. this may be my last area thats crazy.

Im sorry i emailed so early but ive gotta finish up packing and getting ready and then a member is gonna pick me up and take me down.

we had another baptism this weekend it was awesome. The Stevens family has been completed now its off to the temple in a year. i told them id do everything i could to be there wouldnt that be cool. Its been a super good transfer for harvesting and its great because of the hard work that goes into just having someone to teach around here.

so are nicole and family there yet? dont forget to tell me where neal is living.

how is the precious pooch?

I got an email from president larson last week.all of my suit pants got repaired although on my black suit the repair didnt hold so im gonna have to get another repair. luckily i know the lady for the job down in north hollywood.

well will be off now i miss and love you guys and hope all is well.

have a good week and stuff.

HURRAH FOR ISRAEL!!

MAn the weeks sure do fly by out here sometimes i think about them and i just want it to slow down but i figure i can either jump in and become the lords missionary or just think of good ole times i think the eternities will be an allright place to ponder on our lives and what we did.

wow good ole elma a zoneleader area i like the zoneleaders with a greenie idea who is the mission president these days?

So you still havent told me where is neal moved to? and whats this about nicle moving into the home place i thought brydon worked in belvue?

Im excited for them though it will be fun to have someone else close by.

alright so this last saturday we did some awesome service... so this member in our ward Brother Potter also one of our ward missionaries needed some trees removed and he was talking about it over dinner on friday.. I told him i knew a thing or two and offered our help.. so there i was with a chain saw in my hands the next day just fileting a big old apple tree and a bigger fig tree. it was so fun we worked hard and ate figs (i dont really like themthat much). it was great and after we got the trees down and chopped up he asked what is customary to do with the stumps i told him of a few methods and one of these said methods was to rent a stump grinder and grind it out so he said if i could run it he would rent it. so there i was grinding away.. it was awesome we got it all done in a timely manner namely 2 hrs it was great. when we got done bro potter asked the rental guy how much a tree service would cost hear around town and the guys said from top to bottom it would be 400 to 500 dollars a tree dang right these californians so we did a good dead and it was reminicant of home...

I have really enjoyed being here in canyon country it has been fun to be here so long as well i feel like im a part of the ward and that they trust me.. its fun when we get a call and the members want us to come over for dinner because they have some friends over.. you just feel like they trust you so i love it.

well we have another baptism coming up on the 20th that makes three for this transfer wich is pretty stinking good i love being able to see people follow through with what our hevenly father has laid out for our success..

well as for today im not sure what we will be doing but i know it will be great thanks for the money.. my clothes are just starting to go the way of the bufalo.

well next weeks email will include where and if im leaving its getting pretty exciting im pretty sure i will be outta here its my time ive been here for 7 and a half months crazy huh. i would love to stay but ill go where the lord wishes.

I miss you guys like crazy I love having the most number one support system in the world thank you guys for all you do for me. i dont know where id be without you.

Im staying as healthy as possible im staying clean and making sure my living area is as well...

I love life and feel good

man o man

sounds like you guys had quite the adventure.. im glad it turned out good though im excited for the elma trek i want to help out too..

how exciting is necolas news im so excited to finaly have family close by..
I got payts letter as well sarah forwarded it to me. Im sure proud of him it sounds like he hit the ground running it feels good to be some what shoulder to shoulder with that kid while we are out on our missions serving the lord.. when you told me about dad and tone pulling that handcart together it made me feel empowered like i was pulling my own and then there's payt and i feel like we are just pulling along together... things seem so great right now My life feels happy there is always the mantle of a missionary to think about but i love that too. nothing can come my way. i have been thinking alot about my mission and the things ive been able to do and my goals at the beggining and now and how ive done... My biggest goal in the beginning was to always have the misson presidents love and trust. this last interviews we had a good talk about things and he said how much he trusted and appreciated me and the missionary i was... that meant the world to me i felt so good and continue to press forward in this work... I am bringing others with me which always makes me feel good. I feel empowered by living the legacy that has been laid before me. this sunday we taught the young men and we started by asking everyone who there hero was and some things that made them their hero. Then when we had all talked about our heros we talked about living the legacy that our heroes laid before us.. I testified to them that they could become and probably already are sombody elses hero I testified that the priesthood and the church teaches us men how to become such heroes it was good the spirit was there i loved it.

we also had a baptism this weekend it was grreat the spirit was so strong there and the program was perfect. we are really focused on helping her to move forward in the gospel it is a blessed jorney.

well Im glad to hear that everything is going well at home i sure love having you guys as parents thanks for your love and prayers you guys are truely my best friends. as far as things i need ive noticed that my clothes are wearing thin my black suit isnt dong so good i have holes popping up all over the place and ive devoted the worst pair of the two pants to patching material. My blue suit that dad gave me has stayed nice except for at a recent leader ship conference my back pocket got snagged on somthing and ripped the back pretty bad pretty embarrassing with the sisters present and what not, but a lady in the ward is seein if she can repair the damage. the shirts you guys sent in feb have saved me im just trying to strench all of my clothes a little longer.

other than that im good ill let you know if everything gets repaired alright...

well i love you guys and will talk to you next week...

Love your son

Hi!
We just got home from Ut.
The Trek ended yesterday @ about 2:00 p.m. and we got home at about 4.
And WOW, what an experience. You would have been proud of Anthon ~even though he grumbled and acted like he didn't want to be there or be doing this~ he was out front of the cart the whole time w/ ropes strapped across his chest pulling the cart w/ dad and Tyler on each side of him. It was great. (I'll send you some pictures) We started out Wed. morning, all mtg @ the Kaysville bldng. Then we drove to Wyoming where the church owns a 286,000 acre cattle ranch, which we Treked right through the middle of. It was a TON of work and having all the kids with was crazy, but very realistic! Our family consisted of Jane & Robert, Sarah and her two boys, April, Dustin and their 5 kids, Morgan and Ben; Willie and Jeff; Tyler, Jessica and their two; Anthon, Jennie and their 3; and us. We pushed 2 handcarts. We went about 27 miles in 4 days. I will never forget how I felt watching Dad and Tone faithfully pulling the cart, getting us safely to our destination each night and seeing faithful Jennie encourage us and inspiring us with her strong testimony of the gospel and the importance of family! (I'll send you a copy of my journal entries if you'd like better details)
We took lots of notes on what we liked and didn't like that will help as we plan for Elma Stakes first Trek.
We had Sean Robbins watch the place while we were gone and he did a great job.
The big news is Brydon got a job like dad's in the Bellevue area!!!! Isn't that awesome? We are so excited ~ he starts Sept. 6th and the church is gonna pack up and move them. Can you believe it?
It was an uneventful ride home ~thankfully!
I just read a letter from Payton that Sarah forwarded to me. Sounds great. He said it's been so hot, they were eating dinner with a family and he watched a cube of butter melt before his eyes!!!
Hope you're well and happy! Is there anything you need?
Well, I hope that you can have a fun p-day.
I love you tons and tons ~ it was great to hear Baylee and Boston praying for you all on their own when it was their turns to say the prayers.
Love Eternally,
~Mom~

dang sounds like home is changing a bit..

I'm so excited right now we have two solid baptisms coming up and transfers seem to be just around the corner. we had interviews with president this last Friday i sure love that man. we had a good discussion he said he was happy with he way the district was looking and he told me he was happy about the missionary i had become. He said something that meant allot to me as well he said that every one of my companions has learned something from me and that they have all felt better for having been my companion. I felt like a major goal of mine was being fulfilled. then he also said that he trusted me a great deal. that has been a goal of mine since the beginning of my knowledge of mission presidents. I also found out that this transfer i will most likely be being transferred. its a bit bitter sweet i love these people and the area. at the same time i feel very ready to leave the missions hardest bike area and expand my horizons... we will just have to see what is to happen...

I didn't even know that Larry Berndelli was into cars that much.. was it the show and shine.

man every month they have a car show here in canyon country. thats one thing southern California is good for preserving the classic cars. it is cool and is a good contacting activity not to worry we don't stay for an exorbient amount of time you will see the pictures its awesome

I too have been trying to put forth an extra measure of effort to have a high quality journal I'm still not so good at it but am improving i do take allot of notes in trainings and talks though.. i pride myself in my new found skill of note taking.

well i hope all is well at home i cant believe you and dad are gonna be trek leaders maybe i will come and be a scout for ye...

well I don't know to well what we will be doing this day its my companions turn to decide so it will probably be a more relaxed day we will see.

I love you guys
thanks for being my eternal mom and dad.

Hey Jess,
Can you believe it? August already!! What ya gonna do today?
Tomorrow we leave to go to Utah and you'll never guess what ~ Pres. Larsen called us into his office last night and asked us to be the Trek leaders for our Stake. We're going to do Trek in July of 2012. Crazy huh? We're really not that kind of people but look @ us!!! We Skyped Anthon and Jennie last night (they said they got your letter and pictures and loved it) and they're all ready to go on their family trek. We're gonna be traepsing around Wyoming for a few days w/handcarts!!! Both dad and I have to work today or we would have left already!
Sean Robbins is going to take care of the animals while we're gone. We'll make sure he's aware of Cati's high quality!!!
Yesterday I went to church in Ocean Shores w/ the R.S. crew. They had a new Presidency there for us to orientate. The theme for Sacrament Mtg. was Family History and Journal keeping. I have always kept journals off and on but after their talks want to do better. I can see the importance in having a well kept, well detailed journal. with dates of births, marriages, ordinations etc. and experiences you've had that may help others when faced with similar things you've been faced with.
Did you get the pictures I sent you yet? I think I put them in the mail Fri. morning so maybe not. They're of our visit from Sis and Fam. We sure had fun with them here. Lynsie bought plane tickets and they will be here the end of this month. We are so excited for that visit also.
It was the car show here on Sat. That sure had some beauties!! Larry Birindelli had two there, a Black Chevelle convertible (gorgeous!!!) and a blue Nova (I think) w/NOS!!! It was fun to walk around and look at them and all the hard work people put into them. WOW!!
It was also the motorcycle weekend in Ocean Shores. You know how you hear nothing but bikes all weekend? LOVE the sound of all those Harley's!
You asked us to tell you stuff that's going on around here ~ well guess what, we don't know anything!!!! Without kids living at home we don't hear about anyone! I see some kids @ court now and then but noone you hung out with!! Everytime we go into Elma it seems the same. OH, I saw Laurie Holdsworth the other day. They were here visiting from Japan for a month. She said to tell you Hi ~and~ they're tearing trees down like crazy for the new hospital site. It looks really different. Otherwise all is the same!
Have a fantastic day today.
I'll be thinking about you.
I love you tons and tons

~Mom~
